Job Description

SWD/ESE Instructor Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction Delivers instruction to students within the general education classroom setting (including, but not limited to individual instruction, group instruction, co-teaching or other specific student support). Supports SWD student success in the general education classroom. Provides support to the general education teacher to implement inclusion instruction. Assists with testing, planning, and accommodations for all SWD students. Assists in developing materials appropriate for classroom instruction when necessary. Differentiates classroom instruction when necessary to meet the educational needs of students and assists with instructional needs of staff when necessary. Monitoring and Compliance Administers testing when necessary. Collaborates with the SWD coordinator and general education teachers. Participates in appropriate SWD meetings at both the local and District levels. Ensures that appropriate supports, services, accommodations/modifications, and goals for each student. are being implemented as documented in the IEP. Continually monitors progress for each student and collaborates with the SWD coordinator when necessary to reevaluate goals and services. Maintains confidential student information with updated information. Special Education Responsibilities Maintains communication with SWD coordinator, general education teachers, students, and parents regarding accommodations, student progress, and provision of services. Participates in training and professional development throughout the school year. Reviews records of students on caseload (all IEPs, 504s, evaluations, state and district assessments, behavioral plans, special transportation, health plans, etc.). Communication Maintains consistent communication with the general education teachers, SWD coordinator, Leadership. Establishes ongoing communication with the SWD coordinator, general education teachers, and parents. Communicates with the SWD coordinator and general education teachers regarding students goals, progress, and special circumstances.
