Space Coast Discovery Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Teacher (K-6) to lead a classroom and support the academic, social, and emotional growth of elementary-aged students. This paid position is ideal for an educator who is confident in classroom leadership, instructional planning, and creating an inclusive learning environment for students of all abilities. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction, managing the classroom, and collaborating with Assistant Teachers and school leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong background in elementary education and experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including autism and disabilities. Responsibilities Lead and manage a K-6 classroom, creating a structured, positive, and engaging learning environment Plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with K-6 curriculum standards Deliver instruction in core subject areas, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities Implement classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and student accountability Support students with unique learning needs by implementing accommodations, modifications, and behavior plans Supervise and collaborate with Assistant Teachers, providing guidance and support as needed Communicate effectively and professionally with families, colleagues, and administration Monitor student progress and provide feedback and documentation as required Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and state or licensing requirements Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Prior experience as a Lead Teacher or classroom teacher in an elementary (K-6) setting Strong understanding of elementary curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management Experience working with students with autism, disabilities, or diverse learning needs strongly preferred Ability to lead a classroom team and collaborate effectively with support staff Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Ability to adapt instruction and classroom practices to support all learners Familiarity with educational frameworks, standards, or instructional approaches is a plus Additional Requirements Must be able to pass a background check https://info.flclearinghouse.com and any required state or school-based screenings Ability to actively engage with students throughout the school day What We Offer Supportive and collaborative school culture Opportunities for professional development and leadership growth Competitive pay based on experience The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students' lives Embark on a rewarding journey where your energy helps young learners thrive.
