A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

About Company The Victory Center, Inc. is a Florida-based, 501(c)(3) non-sectarian nonprofit corporation that provides children with autism and related disabilities with comprehensive, individualized treatment. We focus on comprehensive individualized programs with a 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1 student/teacher ratio, in a unique classroom setting. We provide intensive therapy based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), in particular those associated with B.F. Skinner's (1957) analysis of verbal behavior. This form of therapy is typically provided to children with autism in home-based programs. ABA is a scientifically proven, systematic approach to the assessment, treatment, and evaluation of behavior, developing functional life skills, nurturing a greater command of language, and decreasing maladaptive behavior such as self-injury and aggression.
