A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. Qualifications Knowledge in creative curriculum and CLASS Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and preschool teaching methodologies. Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and behavior management techniques. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in childhood education or preschool teaching are preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure safety standards are met. Classroom experience involving lesson planning, classroom management, and working with diverse student populations. Ability to incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and standardized testing into daily lessons.
