An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classroom. This contract role offers the chance to work closely with elementary-aged students, delivering tailored instruction and support within a single school location. The position is full-time, 35 hours per week, and is strictly on-site.
Key Requirements:
Hold active Florida ESE certification as well as K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification Demonstrated experience managing a self-contained classroom and working with students with diverse exceptionalities Commitment to on-site engagement; remote or virtual options not available Previous experience in a similar self-contained special education setting Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing steps, including fingerprint verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse (support provided if prints need updating or JLA badge required) Willingness to participate in a virtual prescreen interview to assess fit for the role
Responsibilities:
Provide differentiated instruction tailored to individual students learning needs and exceptionalities Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs) Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and families to promote student growth Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly Maintain accurate records, compliance, and communication with stakeholders This position is perfect for education professionals seeking the stability of a contract role and the reward of helping students reach their fullest potential in a close-knit environment.
