Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and self-motivated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to nurture young learners during their critical early childhood years. In this role, you will create an engaging classroom environment that promotes early literacy, social-emotional development, and foundational skills essential for kindergarten readiness. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help children develop independence, confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning, setting the stage for future academic success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives through innovative teaching and compassionate care. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that support individual needs. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including language acquisition, motor skills, and social-emotional learning. Incorporate special education techniques and early intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs. Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's growth and welfare. Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among students. Requirements Level 2 Background Screening 45 DCF Hours CDA and VPK credentials Experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles. Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Experience with special education practices and early intervention programs is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Ability to manage classroom activities efficiently while fostering an inclusive environment for all learners.
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
