The ideal candidate has prior experience working with children with special needs and is patient, attentive, high energy, and genuinely dedicated to providing quality care in a nurturing environment. Duties Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods Observe patient behavior for changes, and communicate findings effectively to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote health and well-being. Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment for the child's development. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organization of the living space. Follow all protocols related to hospice care, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or other specialized services as required. Experience Candidates must have prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments supporting children or adults with disabilities. Specific experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is essential. Familiarity with patient monitoring technique, and familiarity with care plans is required. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality of client information. Additional experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice care, or long-term care settings is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in manual handling procedures such as lifting and patient transfer methods while maintaining safety standards. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are critical for success in this role.
