This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop engaging curricula, foster critical thinking, and prepare students for higher education or careers in law enforcement, legal studies, or public service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in criminal justice topics, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for mentoring diverse learners. Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging lessons on criminal law, ethics, forensic science, and related topics aligned with educational standards and curriculum goals Develop customized lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and incorporate technology-enhanced instruction Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities to ensure tailored support and compliance with educational regulations Manage classroom behavior effectively, especially for students with special needs or behavioral challenges, fostering a positive learning environment Collaborate with co-teachers, special education staff, and administrative teams to enhance instructional strategies and student outcomes Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods and provide constructive feedback to support student growth Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and IEP documentation in accordance with educational compliance standards Incorporate behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis where appropriate to support student development Engage in ongoing professional development related to criminal justice education, special education law, and innovative teaching practices Experience Proven classroom experience teaching law, criminal justice, or related social sciences at middle or high school levels Demonstrated success in curriculum development tailored for diverse student populations with varying learning needs Experience working with students with disabilities, including those with autism or developmental disabilities, utilizing behavior management strategies effectively Familiarity with IEP development and implementation to support inclusive education environments Strong understanding of special education law, educational compliance standards, and best practices in classroom management for students with behavioral challenges Proficiency in integrating learning technology into lesson plans to enhance engagement and comprehension Prior experience collaborating within co-teaching models or multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive instruction Knowledge of standardized testing procedures such as AP style assessments relevant to law or social sciences coursework Ability to adapt lessons based on individual learning styles while maintaining high academic standards in literacy education, math (including calculus and algebra), and creative writing where applicable This vibrant role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by guiding students through complex legal concepts while supporting their unique educational journeys.
