Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding role supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing as an itinerant DHH teacher serving multiple K-12 schools in the vibrant Southeast Florida Coast area. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity spans from August 5, 2026, through June 1, 2027, and places you at the forefront of providing essential services within a dynamic school environment. Your expertise will help students access their education and reach their fullest potential. What you'll bring: Active Florida Department of Education (DOE) certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience or training as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing Background in supporting students across K-12 age levels Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families Ability to travel and serve multiple schools throughout the district as an itinerant educator Willingness to complete time-sensitive credentialing requirements including fingerprint clearance (potential to expedite with Department of Health records) Key responsibilities: Deliver direct and consultative DHH services to students in a variety of school settings (K-12) Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion for all students Assist with Functional Listening Evaluations (FLEs) and Usher screenings across the district Collect and upload audiological evaluations into the PEER system for compliance and record-keeping Serve as a knowledgeable resource to the school community regarding best practices for supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing This role offers the chance to make a significant difference in students' lives while gaining valuable experience within a supportive school environment.
