A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

lessons aligned with school learning standards. Teach students the engineering design process, from identifying problems to designing, testing, evaluating, and improving solutions. Instruct students in 3D modeling using CAD software such as Tinkercad, Fusion 360, or similar platforms. Teach students how to safely operate, troubleshoot, and maintain 3D printers while following established safety procedures. Integrate coding, computational thinking, engineering, mathematics, and technology into hands-on learning experiences. Teach concepts such as measurement, scale, geometry, spatial reasoning, and design specifications through real-world engineering projects. Design collaborative STEM challenges that encourage creativity, innovation, communication, and teamwork. Foster curiosity, perseverance, and a growth mindset through inquiry-based instruction. Assess student learning through project-based assessments, presentations, and performance tasks while providing meaningful feedback. Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences that integrate STEM concepts across subject areas. Maintain an organized, safe, and innovative STEM classroom and makerspace. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in STEM Education, Engineering, Technology Education, Computer Science, Robotics, Industrial Technology, Design, or a related field. Possess any required state teaching credentials or certifications and meet all applicable credentialing requirements. Ability to pass a criminal background investigation. Experience teaching STEM, engineering, robotics, makerspace, or technology courses preferred. Experience using 3D printersand CAD software such as Tinkercad, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar platforms preferred. Knowledge of coding platforms appropriate for middle school students is preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to engage students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Teaching experience in a public or private school preferred. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be required. Teach students to design digital models using CAD software and fabricate prototypes using 3D printers. Instruct students in proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures for 3D printers and other STEM equipment. Integrate engineering, mathematics, technology, and science concepts into authentic, hands-on learning experiences. Prepare students to solve real-world challenges through collaboration, innovation, and design thinking. Utilize computers, educational technology, coding platforms, and STEM equipment to enhance instruction. Maintain classroom materials, makerspace tools, and technology equipment in safe working order.
