Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic VPK Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will come up with classroom activities, lesson planning, and foster a nurturing environment that promotes literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Experience with children, classroom management, and specialized skills such as working with children with autism or disabilities are highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young learners in a supportive educational setting. The hours will be 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. We currently have 15 in this classroom with an assitant teacher. Responsibilities Implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including curriculum development for literacy, math, and behavior management. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment conducive to learning and social interaction. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development, including toddler care and preschool experiences. Create an inclusive classroom atmosphere by working effectively with children with autism or disabilities. Foster communication skills among students through interactive activities and personalized attention. Classroom organization, including preparing materials for lessons and maintaining a clean and safe daycare or private school environment. Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and adapt curriculum for diverse learners. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavioral updates. Requirements Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development principles, Montessori methods, or similar educational philosophies such as Toddler care or Preschool experience. Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management techniques, and working with children with autism or disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and students. Ability to assist in lesson planning focused on literacy education, math skills, and overall curriculum development tailored to early learners. Experience working with children with diverse needs and backgrounds is desirable. Certification or training in childhood education or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory. A compassionate attitude towards children's growth and learning, along with patience and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment.
