Job Description

This is a referendum eligible position Must have FL Teaching Certification

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at a private school specializing in providing exceptional education to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a passion for creating inclusive and engaging learning environments. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
  • Educate students with various learning challenges, including but not limited to behavioral, developmental, or physical disabilities
  • Provide specialized instruction in areas such as Deaf education, behavioral therapy, and Montessori principles
  • Offer one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction to support student learning and development
  • Collaborate with parents, school staff, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods to promote academic growth and social-emotional well-being Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • State certification in Special Education
  • Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health and intervention strategies
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
