Full-Time Position Summary The Middle School Critical Thinking Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons that strengthen students' reasoning, logic, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Through project-based learning, inquiry, discussion, and real-world applications, the teacher will help students become independent thinkers and responsible decision-makers while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging lessons focused on critical thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making. Facilitate inquiry-based and project-based learning experiences that encourage creativity and innovation. Teach students to evaluate information, analyze evidence, identify bias, and construct well-supported arguments. Foster collaboration through group discussions, debates, presentations, and team-based problem-solving activities. Encourage students to apply critical thinking skills to real-world situations and interdisciplinary learning. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. Assess student growth through performance tasks, projects, presentations, and formative assessments. Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, perseverance, and intellectual engagement. Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and student learning. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and classroom expectations. Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and staff to support school-wide instructional goals. Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events. Uphold school policies while maintaining high expectations for student behavior and academic excellence. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Valid Florida Educator Certificate or eligibility for certification. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Passion for developing students' analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching middle school students. Background in project-based learning, STEM, gifted education, debate, philosophy, social studies, or interdisciplinary instruction. Experience integrating technology into classroom instruction. Knowledge of Florida B.E.S.T. Standards and inquiry-based instructional practices.
