Head of School / Administration Position Overview Braselton Christian Academy is seeking a creative, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Culinary Arts & Music Electives Teacher to provide engaging elective instruction to students in a Christian school environment. This combined position is ideal for a versatile educator or skilled professional who enjoys working with children and can introduce students to both culinary arts and music through hands-on, age-appropriate instruction . The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering elective courses that encourage creativity, practical life skills, confidence, teamwork, and student participation. Culinary Arts Responsibilities The Culinary Arts portion of the position will introduce students to foundational cooking and kitchen skills in a safe, structured environment.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and teach age-appropriate culinary arts lessons and activities. Introduce students to basic cooking and baking techniques. Teach kitchen safety, sanitation, food handling, and proper use of equipment. Introduce basic nutrition, food preparation, measurements, recipes, and meal planning. Incorporate practical math, science, culture, and life skills into culinary activities. Supervise students closely during all food preparation activities. Maintain an organized, sanitary, and safe instructional kitchen/workspace. Monitor food allergies and dietary restrictions as provided by administration. Coordinate ingredient and supply needs with BCA administration. Plan occasional student culinary projects, demonstrations, or special presentations. Music Electives Responsibilities The Music portion of the position will provide students with foundational exposure to music while encouraging creativity, confidence, and performance skills.
Responsibilities include:
Provide engaging, age-appropriate general music instruction. Introduce rhythm, melody, music appreciation, basic music theory, and vocal techniques. Lead students in group singing, rhythm activities, and introductory instrumental experiences when appropriate. Incorporate Christian, traditional, contemporary, and culturally enriching music selections consistent with BCA standards. Identify and encourage students' individual musical interests and abilities. Prepare students for school programs, chapel presentations, celebrations, and other special events as requested. Maintain and properly organize classroom instruments, equipment, and instructional materials.
General Responsibilities The teacher will:
Prepare weekly lesson plans for assigned elective classes. Maintain appropriate classroom management and student supervision. Create an engaging environment that accommodates students at different grade and skill levels. Maintain professional communication with administration, teachers, students, and families. Follow all BCA safety, student conduct, confidentiality, and staff policies. Maintain accurate attendance and instructional records as required. Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration regarding scheduling and special programs. Participate in designated staff meetings or training when required. Model professionalism, integrity, respect, and conduct consistent with the mission and values of Braselton Christian Academy.
Qualifications Preferred qualifications include:
Experience in culinary arts, food service, hospitality, music, performing arts, education, or a related field. Previous experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or working with children. Ability to confidently provide instruction in both culinary arts and general music . Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to develop creative, hands-on lessons for multiple age groups. Dependability and ability to work independently within established school policies. Ability to successfully complete all BCA-required background screening and employment requirements. Schedule This is a part-time position averaging approximately four (4) hours per day . Specific instructional days and hours will be established according to the BCA elective schedule. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who can make electives a highlight of the school day. BCA is seeking an instructor who is enthusiastic about introducing students to practical culinary skills while also creating meaningful opportunities for musical expression, creativity, and performance.
