Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing - Telehealth Job Type Contract A full-time teaching opportunity is available to support a kindergarten student with hearing impairments via telehealth. The focus is on facilitating language acquisition and American Sign Language (ASL) skills for a student who is in the early stages of learning to communicate through sign language. The student uses a cochlear implant and is beginning to develop an understanding of basic signs.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering specialized instruction and support in ASL and language development tailored to the individual needs of the student Collaborating on strategies to enhance communication skills and overall language acquisition Monitoring progress and adjusting teaching methods accordingly Providing telehealth sessions that effectively engage and motivate the student Desired qualifications and experience: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing Experience teaching young children, particularly kindergarten-aged students Strong knowledge of ASL and expertise in language development for students with hearing loss Familiarity with cochlear implant technology and its impact on language learning Comfort and proficiency with telehealth platforms and remote instruction

This contract position is based in Buena Vista, Georgia, with sessions conducted via telehealth. This role requires availability to start immediately and continue through May 21.
