Lead Closing TeacherJob Overview Bright Star Kids Academy is seeking a dependable, professional, and experienced Lead Closing Teacher to oversee afternoon and evening classroom operations while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organized learning environment. This leadership role is responsible for supervising children, supporting staff, maintaining licensing compliance, and ensuring the center is prepared for the following day before closing. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication and classroom management skills who is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and exceptional customer service to families. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead classroom activities during the afternoon and closing hours while providing a positive, engaging learning environment. Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all children at all times. Conduct end-of-day classroom and facility safety checks to ensure children have been signed out and classrooms are secure. Communicate professionally with parents during pick-up regarding their child's daily activities, behavior, and accomplishments. Support teachers with classroom management, transitions, and maintaining appropriate child-to-teacher ratios. Ensure classrooms are clean, sanitized, organized, and prepared for the next school day. Complete all required daily classroom documentation, including attendance, incident reports, and child observations. Implement positive behavior management strategies that encourage respectful and appropriate behaviors. Follow all Bright Star Kids Academy policies, Georgia licensing regulations, and health and safety requirements. Assist with center closing procedures, including securing classrooms, completing assigned closing checklists, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to administration. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, reliability, and strong leadership. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field OR a current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is required. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early childhood education program. Must possess a current satisfactory Comprehensive Criminal Background Check in accordance with Georgia DECAL requirements. Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe). Knowledge of child development, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate practices. Strong understanding of Georgia childcare licensing standards and health and safety regulations. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while effectively leading and supporting a team. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stoop, and actively engage with young children throughout the workday. Preferred Qualifications Experience serving in a lead teacher or supervisory role. Experience with infant, toddler, preschool, or Pre-K classrooms. Familiarity with digital childcare management systems and daily documentation. Strong problem-solving, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
