Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract A full-time Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing is needed for the upcoming school year, serving students in multiple school buildings within the Fortson, GA area. This position runs from August 3rd, 2026 through May 21st, 2027, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. The successful candidate will provide specialized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they receive appropriate educational services tailored to their needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Manage caseload across multiple school facilities as assigned, with flexibility to travel between locations Maintain detailed daily logs of services provided and student progress, adhering to district requirements Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Use specialized strategies, resources, and technology to facilitate communication and learning Remain current with best practices and comply with local and state education standards
Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Educator Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and complete accurate service documentation Ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student success Willingness to work onsite and provide services in-person across multiple locations

Fortson, Georgia (serving schools in the surrounding district area) This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education of students with hearing impairments in a dynamic school environment.
