Job Description
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or related field
- Prior experience working with visually impaired students preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to create individualized instructional materials using adaptive technology
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success and accessibility
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials and assessments for accessibility
- Utilize and teach assistive technology to enhance student independence
- Conduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for classroom modifications
