Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing - Telehealth Job Type Contract A full-time opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, providing telehealth services in a school setting. This position focuses on instructing a kindergarten student who is learning American Sign Language (ASL) and language acquisition, with no prior ASL knowledge. The student uses a cochlear implant and is currently developing basic sign language skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver telehealth instruction tailored to a kindergarten student with hearing impairment Support ASL language acquisition and development of communication skills Utilize expertise in working with students using cochlear implants Collaborate with educational staff to implement effective teaching strategies Monitor student progress and adjust lessons to meet learning needs

Qualifications and Experience:

Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Proficiency in ASL and experience teaching language to students new to sign language Familiarity with cochlear implant technologies and associated teaching methods Strong communication and instructional skills adaptable to telehealth platforms Experience working with early childhood learners preferred Benefits include professional development opportunities and a structured schedule aligned with school programming.
