Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your specialized expertise and passion for teaching to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with visual impairments. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience or training in Braille and assistive technology for visual impairments Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Adaptability and creativity in modifying curriculum and materials for diverse needs Commitment to fostering independence and self-advocacy in students Previous school-based or pediatric experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction aligned to IEP goals for students with visual impairments Assess, plan, and implement individualized educational programs Support classroom teachers in adapting materials and teaching strategies Teach Braille, orientation and mobility techniques, and daily living skills as needed Consult with families, staff, and related service providers to ensure student success Track and document student progress, ensuring compliance with all educational regulations
