Job Description

About us NorthStar Education and Therapeutic Services is a member of the Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Support. Our program provides comprehensive educational and therapeutic support to students who might otherwise require more restrictive placements due to the severity of one or more characteristics of their disability. Our team works as part of the continuum of services in the school districts we serve to stabilize student behavior and give them the skills and habits they require to return successfully to classrooms in their local districts.
Payscale:
aligned with state/local salary schedule NorthStar, a member of the Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports (GNETS), located in Dalton, GA (Whitfield County) is seeking qualified applicants for consideration as a special education teacher. This position serves students with Severe Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (SEBD), Other Health Impairments (OHI),and Autism that are eligible for special education services. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and meet certification requirements with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Experience in providing both standards-based instruction and behavioral interventions to this population of students, as well as strong personal and professional references, are preferred.
