Position Details:
K-5 Caseload within Douglas County School System Full Time - Starting August 2026 1.0 FTE, M-F About the Role Hello, Teachers of the Visually Impaired! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Teacher of Visually Impaired for a K-12 school setting in Douglasville, GA. In this role, you'll play a critical part in student success by delivering specialized instruction and support that maximizes learning experiences for students with visual impairments, fosters academic growth, interpersonal development, and daily living skills, and creates a safe, flexible, and engaging learning environment while collaborating with students, families, and school leadership to support individual educational goals and progress. Why Join Us Competitive pay (Up to $43-50/hour) + steady school-year schedule W-2 employment with liability insurance included Healthcare benefits• + 401(k) with company match Reimbursement for licensure, CEUs, and professional expenses Mileage reimbursement between sites + referral bonuses What You'll Do Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to support student success Develop and implement individualized educational programs tailored to student needs Adapt curriculum and differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and abilities Create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment for students with visual impairments Provide individualized and small-group instruction to maximize academic, social, and daily living skills Monitor, assess, document, and communicate student progress, goals, and outcomes Maintain accurate records for attendance, grading, assessments, and compliance requirements Build strong partnerships with students, families, and school staff through effective communication and collaboration Apply knowledge of special education practices, visual impairment supports, curriculum, and educational technology Stay current on educational best practices, special education laws, and professional development opportunities What We're Looking For Georgia Teaching Certificate Special Education (P-12) Visual Impairment Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignments.
