THE FAST TEACHING EXPERIENCE
As a Special Education Teacher at FAST, you'll deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that supports students with disabilities through inclusive, student-centered practices. You'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and service providers to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally—while preparing them for long-term success.
YOUR CLASSROOM, YOUR IMPACT
What You'll Do Provide specially designed instruction aligned to IEPs, FAST curriculum, and Georgia standards Support students in general education and special education settings Integrate STEM, design thinking, and problem-solving strategies into instruction Differentiate instruction and accommodations based on individual student needs Monitor and document progress toward IEP goals Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment Support students' academic, social, and emotional development Use calm, effective de-escalation strategies when needed Work With Others Facilitate and participate in IEP, eligibility, and reevaluation meetings Maintain accurate and timely special education documentation Collaborate with service providers (speech, OT, PT, etc.), teachers, and administrators Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers Participate in school-wide initiatives and activities Professional Expectations Support FAST's mission, vision, and values Complete all required training and professional learning Follow school policies and demonstrate professionalism and flexibility What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree required (Psychology, Education, Social Work, Counseling, or related field; Master's preferred) Degree in Special Education or related field (preferred) Valid Georgia Special Education Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain certification Knowledge of
IDEA, IEP
development, and Georgia compliance requirements Experience working with students with behavioral and/or developmental needs (preferred) TAG certification (preferred) Fulton Academy of Science & Technology is an equal opportunity employer.
