Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1+ years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract-to-hire position offers part-time hours—8 to 10 hours per week—working on-site with bright elementary and middle school learners. With a focus on direct service ranging from 3 to 5 hours weekly and a well-defined caseload of 81 students, your expertise will help foster communication, learning, and confidence for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Qualifications:
State credentials as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Demonstrated experience with students in elementary or middle school settings Strong knowledge of current best practices and educational strategies for deaf or hard of hearing students Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and direct services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students can access curriculum and school activities Support classroom staff, offering resources and strategies for effective inclusion Conduct assessments and contribute to the development and review of IEPs Maintain detailed records and progress reports for each student on the caseload Participate in meetings and provide guidance on assistive technology and accommodations Envision a workplace where dedication makes a meaningful impact—and where your commitment is rewarded.
