Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students in grades 5-8 as a Special Education Teacher working with a dedicated group of 8-12 learners. This contract position focuses on a
Strat II:
ID classroom where you will help foster academic growth and personal development for students requiring alternate assessments. Your expertise will make a real difference in their daily experiences and learning journeys.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification, with endorsement for
Strat II:
ID (Instructional Disabilities) Experience working with middle school students or within the 5th-8th grade range Familiarity with alternate assessment plans and individualized education programs (IEPs) Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized instruction based on student IEPs and alternative assessment requirements Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to coordinate educational supports Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth Track and evaluate student progress; prepare timely reports and documentation for IEP meetings Utilize creative approaches to make learning accessible and meaningful for every student Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
