Job Description
Our Child Development team at our Downtown Boise Y Kids will be needing part-time Summer Day Camp Teachers for the summer season. You will be responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child's development and supports children and their family's diverse needs and interest. We believe every child is a child of promise and deserves the opportunity to discover who they are, what they can achieve, and belong to a community. The Summer Day Camp Teacher leads a group of children in a variety of activities, experiences, and relationship building.
Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents.
Implement the established curriculum.
Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children's appropriate development and behavior.
Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers.
Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child's unique background, needs and different learning styles.
Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming. The environment is created based on the belief that all children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands on open-ended experiences.
Minimum 1 year working with children is preferred.
Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
Pediatric CPR/AED - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
First Aid - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
Schedule:
This is a seasonal position 15-25 hours weekly. Schedule varies based on needs of site. Pay is $15.35-19.19/hour.Work Location:

Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age or older.Minimum 1 year working with children is preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Boise City and/or Idaho State Childcare License - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.Pediatric CPR/AED - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
First Aid - Prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
