Job Description

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Gooding High School as a full-time Career and Technical Education (CTE) Agriculture Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the field of agriculture, providing them with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful careers in this vital industry. This role involves developing a comprehensive curriculum, engaging students in hands-on learning experiences, and fostering a positive classroom environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement a dynamic curriculum focused on agricultural sciences, including but not limited to plant and soil science, animal science, agribusiness, and sustainable agriculture practices. Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, field trips, and real-world applications of agricultural concepts. Assess student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations, and provide constructive feedback to support their growth. Collaborate with other educators and community partners to enhance the agricultural education program and provide students with opportunities for internships and job shadowing. Organize and supervise FFA (Future Farmers of America) activities, competitions, and events to promote student leadership and involvement in the agricultural community. Maintain a safe and organized classroom and laboratory environment, ensuring that all equipment and materials are properly managed. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in agricultural education, integrating new information into the curriculum as appropriate. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and program developments. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of agricultural practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education, Agriculture, or a related field. Valid teaching certification or license in Agricultural Education (or the ability to obtain one). Strong knowledge of agriculture, agronomy, animal science, and related fields. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for diverse student populations. Experience with hands-on teaching methods and project-based learning is preferred. Familiarity with FFA programs and leadership development is a plus. Commitment to fostering student engagement and promoting career readiness in the agricultural sector.
