Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification in Special Education or eligibility to obtain state certification. Demonstrated experience teaching students with varying disabilities and learning differences. Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and evaluation. Exceptional communication skills to effectively partner with families, staff, and administration. Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering a positive classroom community. Previous experience with differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute individualized lesson plans tailored to students' unique abilities and goals. Assess students' strengths and challenges to inform instructional strategies. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff for integrated learning approaches. Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and document IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and developmental milestones. Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment to promote academic and social-emotional growth.
