The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities. This role requires collaboration with educators, families, and support staff to create individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic and social success for all students. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students, parents, and other educators.
  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of students with disabilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary to ensure student success.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support the inclusion of students with disabilities in mainstream classrooms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress towards IEP goals.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of effective educational strategies.
  • Provide behavioral support and interventions as needed to help students develop social and emotional skills.
  • Stay informed about current best practices and legal requirements in special education.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in special education. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably at the middle school level.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Proficient in using technology and educational software to support instruction and assessment.
