Job Description
Summary Pillar Falls Elementary School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic paraprofessional. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers to provide instructional and behavioral support, helping create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment where every student can thrive. This position plays an important role in supporting student growth, fostering independence, and contributing to the overall success of our elementary school community. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic skills and learning objectives. Support students in developing positive behavior, social skills, and independence. Monitor student progress and communicate observations regarding academic performance and behavior to classroom teachers. Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Assist with classroom management and encourage respectful, positive interactions among students. Provide appropriate support and accommodations for students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom expectations. Supervise students during assigned duties, which may include recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, or transitions as needed. Prepare instructional materials and assist with routine classroom organization and record keeping. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or supervising teacher. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with elementary-aged children is highly desirable. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while supporting diverse student needs. Patience, flexibility, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student success. Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Ability to meet all district and state requirements, including successful completion of required background checks. Employment Information This is a 3.75-hour per day position and is considered an at-will position. Employment may be terminated by either the employee or the employer at any time for any lawful reason, consistent with applicable state and federal laws. The at-will employment relationship may only be modified through written authorization approved by the Board of Trustees of Twin Falls School District #411. All recommendations for hire are tentative offers of employment. Employment is contingent upon Board approval and successful completion of a federal background check and any required pre-employment screenings, including compliance with the District's drug-free workplace policies.
