The successful candidate will teach a combination of Biology, AnatomyPhysiology, and Forensic Science courses while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy in a college preparatory environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence, student engagement, and the holistic development of young women. As a member of the Rosary community, the teacher will support the school's Catholic Dominican mission by creating a classroom environment that encourages intellectual growth, personal responsibility, and respect for all. Essential Responsibilities Teach Biology, AnatomyPhysiology, and Forensic Science courses using engaging, student-centered instructional practices. Develop lesson plans, assessments, and laboratory experiences that promote inquiry, collaboration, and critical thinking. Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that supports student learning and growth. Monitor and communicate student progress with students, parents, and school personnel. Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records. Provide academic support through student intervention, tutoring, and office hours. Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, retreats, liturgies, and other school activities. Support and uphold the mission, values, and traditions of Rosary College Prep. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate science endorsement or ability to obtain licensure. Demonstrated knowledge of biological sciences and laboratory instruction. Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
