Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Bilingual Special Education Teacher, working part-time with students who thrive under individualized attention and dual-language support. Key Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and Special Education Certification (LBS 1) Proficiency in both English and Spanish Demonstrated experience or interest in special education settings Ability to develop rapport and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues from various backgrounds
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instructional services to students with diverse learning needs, in both English and Spanish Develop, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to help each student reach their goals Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families to foster an inclusive and supportive environment Maintain accurate student records, assessments, and progress documentation Provide recommendations for modifications and accommodations that meet students' unique learning styles and abilities This position offers flexible scheduling—typically 1-2 days per week—to accommodate your current commitments while allowing you to contribute meaningfully to student growth.
