Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, working with young learners in grades K-2 from August through May. Located near Aurora, IL, this full-time role focuses on supporting and inspiring students with diverse learning needs in a school environment where your expertise and compassion truly matter.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher, with credentials to instruct grades K-2 Demonstrated experience or advanced training in special education practices and curriculum adaptation Strong classroom management skills tailored to early elementary students Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and fellow educators Ability to create engaging learning plans that address individual student goals
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in kindergarten through second grade Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs and promote academic growth Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and social-emotional development Maintain ongoing assessment and documentation of student progress, adjusting instruction as needed Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support holistic student success Participate in IEP meetings and professional development sessions throughout the school year This contract role offers competitive weekly pay between $40-50 per hour, ensuring your expertise is recognized.
