Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract In this impactful contract opportunity, you'll support K-5 students as a Special Education Resource Teacher, helping them thrive in a stimulating and responsive educational environment. Serving at the elementary level, your expertise addresses the diverse needs of students who benefit from specialized instruction while primarily accessing general education classrooms. Utilizing both push-in and pull-out models, you'll provide targeted support around IEP goals, accommodations, and interventions. Collaboration is key as you partner with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to deliver the highest quality instruction and help each learner reach their potential.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification (Illinois or eligible for reciprocity) Experience with elementary resource programming or similar settings Strong knowledge of IEP process, special education law, and best instructional practices Expertise in supporting executive functioning, academic skill development, and curriculum accessibility Comfortable designing modifications and accommodations per student needs Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork Familiarity with both push-in and pull-out instructional approaches
Responsibilities:
