Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a positive impact as a Special Education Resource Teacher, supporting students within a nurturing school environment near Bellwood, IL. This part-time, contract role focuses on delivering essential resource programming at the elementary level, providing specialized instruction and interventions for students integrated primarily into the general education setting. In this role, you'll work just two days per week, collaborating with staff to ensure students receive the targeted support needed to succeed academically and socially. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active Special Education Teacher certification/license for Illinois Previous experience in resource teaching or similar special education roles preferred Strong knowledge of IEP implementation and compliance Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families Solid understanding of differentiated instruction, academic interventions, and executive functioning strategies Excellent communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct specialized instruction to students in resource settings using both push-in and pull-out models Support grade-level curriculum access and develop individualized learning strategies Implement student IEPs, monitor progress, and contribute to IEP meetings as required Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver effective accommodations, modifications, and academic supports Offer guidance on executive functioning and academic skill development Maintain accurate records and participate in ongoing professional communication with staff and families Why Step into
