Job Description

Make a meaningful difference by supporting young learners as a passionate Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. Situated close to Benton, IL, this opportunity allows you to impact students in kindergarten through 4th grade within a specialized communication disorder classroom, working with a small, focused caseload of just 10 students. Your expertise will shape individualized educational experiences, promote growth, and foster inclusion in a supportive educational environment. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, providing you with consistency and the chance to build strong relationships with your students and colleagues.
Qualifications and Skills:
Valid Illinois LBS1 credential/certification required Experience or interest in working with elementary-aged students (K-4th grade) Strong understanding of communication disorders Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills Adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to student success
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Provide specialized instruction and interventions within small group and one-on-one settings Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, and families Track and report on student progress in accordance with all requirements Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere Support students' social, emotional, and academic development
