Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 6-8 for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position is located near Bolingbrook, IL and offers the chance to make a positive, lasting difference in the lives of middle school students. What We're Looking For:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (K-22), or actively in the process of obtaining and expect to hold by August 2026 Previous experience writing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Familiarity with current best practices in special education and differentiated instruction Commitment to advocating for and empowering students with diverse learning needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Experience with middle school (grades 6-8) learners preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction and accommodations in accordance with students' IEPs Assess, monitor, and document student progress and growth Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers Engage in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and fostering positive partnerships with families Create a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations This contract position offers a pay range of $40.75 - $54.50 per hour, determined by experience, travel requirements, licensure, and degree level.
