Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year, supporting students in innovative programs dedicated to diverse learning needs. Three exciting contract roles are available, serving schools in the greater Bolingbrook, IL area. Whether your expertise lies in Autism Spectrum Disorder, social-emotional and behavioral needs, or early childhood education, you'll play a vital part in fostering growth, communication, and adaptive skills for young learners. Your strengths and enthusiasm for advocacy will make a profound impact within these specialized programs:
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Special Education endorsements. Previous experience working in special education settings or with diverse learner populations. Strong collaborative, communication, and classroom management skills. Experience or interest in therapeutic, autism, or cross-categorical programs (dependent on role). Understanding of IEPs, progress monitoring, and evidence-based instructional strategies.Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student's needs. Provide direct instruction and intervention for students with autism, social-emotional/behavioral needs, or cross-categorical disabilities (role dependent). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff. Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that promotes communication and adaptive skills. Track student progress, adjust strategies, and communicate regularly with families. Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and trainings as required.Benefits:
