Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding teaching opportunity supporting young learners in a dynamic educational setting near Burbank, IL. Two contract positions are available for dedicated
Special Education Teachers:
one role focuses on kindergarten, the other on 1st grade. Both roles are primarily centered around instructional classes for the 2026-2027 school year. You'll play an essential role in guiding students toward growth and success, tailoring your teaching strategies to meet their unique needs and abilities.
Qualifications:
Special Education Teacher certification required Experience with kindergarten or 1st grade students preferred Skilled at developing and adapting individualized instructional materials Familiarity with instructional best practices in self-contained or resource classrooms Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
What You'll Do:
Design and implement engaging instructional lessons for students with diverse learning needs Adapt curriculum and materials to accommodate individual education plans (IEPs) Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to all stakeholders Foster a supportive atmosphere, encouraging academic and social-emotional development Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines This is an excellent opportunity to help students build foundational skills while working alongside passionate colleagues.
