Special Education Teacher in Chicago Ridge, IL Sunbelt Staffing - 3.8 Chicago Ridge, IL Job Details Contract $25 - $45 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Qualifications LBS1 Professional Educator License Special Education Certification Full Job Description Make a meaningful impact as a Learning Behavior Specialist supporting middle school students in a dynamic educational environment near Chicago Ridge. This contract position offers the chance to work onsite for 33.75 hours per week, from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM, starting August 17th and continuing through the end of the school year. In this role, you'll work with a 7th-grade co-taught caseload consisting of 10 students, each with unique learning needs, focusing on ELA and Math. Most students have Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in reading and/or math and participate in general education classrooms, specials, lunch, and recess with their peers. Your expertise will help bridge support in these inclusive settings, working collaboratively with general education teachers to ensure the academic and behavioral success of your students.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Illinois professional educator license with LBS1 endorsement Experience working with middle school students and developing or implementing IEPs Strong collaboration and communication skills Passion for fostering inclusive classroom environments
Responsibilities:
Co-teach with general education staff in ELA and Math, supporting students with IEP goals Monitor and document student progress, adapting instruction as needed Provide direct intervention for academic and behavioral needs Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, collaborating with parents and staff Promote a positive, supportive learning atmosphere for students with diverse needs This opportunity comes with a suite of benefits including competitive weekly pay, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan.
