Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Cicero, IL. We're seeking motivated educators for two contract positions: one focused on Kindergarten and another dedicated to 1st Grade students. Both roles primarily involve instructional classes designed to support students' growth throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current certification as a Special Education Teacher Experience working with elementary-aged children, ideally in a school setting Strong understanding of IEPs and ability to implement individualized goals Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students in special education programs Create and adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning needs Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary Maintain detailed documentation and data tracking in alignment with school requirements Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Foster a safe, nurturing classroom atmosphere conducive to learning Working as a contract Special Education Teacher in these instructional classes provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in early elementary education.
