Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact as a dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher supporting students who access the general education setting but benefit from specialized instruction and individualized IEP support. In this part-time, contract role, you'll work two days each week providing targeted resource programming at the elementary level, empowering learners to thrive both academically and personally. In this position, your support will focus on implementing accommodations, delivering interventions, and collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure each student's unique needs are met. Through a combination of push-in and pull-out services, you will help students strengthen academic skills, advance executive functioning, and achieve their IEP goals in an inclusive learning environment.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification required Experience supporting elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs Proficiency developing and implementing IEPs, adapting curriculum, and tracking student progress Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, parents, and support staff Ability to promote an inclusive and nurturing environment for learners
Role Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and academic interventions within general education classrooms and in small-group or individual settings Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations to support student growth Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as necessary Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and families Support executive functioning skill development and access to grade-level curriculum Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based educational planning This is an exciting opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of exceptional students by providing resource support just two days a week.
