Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic 4th-grade classroom setting designed to support students with a wide range of academic, behavioral, and communication needs. This contract role places a strong emphasis on individualized, cross-categorical instructional programming, ensuring every student receives personalized attention and the right resources to thrive. You'll work closely with a skilled program aide and additional support staff, creating a collaborative and nurturing environment where both you and your students can succeed. What you'll bring: Active Special Education Teacher certification Demonstrated experience in special education, preferably with elementary-aged students Familiarity with cross-categorical instructional methods and IEP development and implementation Strong skills in differentiated instruction and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learner needs Ability to utilize structured teaching, visual supports, and behavioral or sensory interventions Commitment to ongoing collaboration with related service providers and support staff What you'll do: Deliver instruction aligned to grade-level standards while meeting individualized IEP goals Design and implement specialized teaching strategies for students with academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs Integrate visual, behavioral, social-emotional, sensory, and communication supports into daily instruction Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize outcomes Collaborate daily with aides, therapists, and other team members to provide holistic support for each student This is your opportunity to inspire growth and help students realize their full potential.
