Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Shape students' futures in a contract Special Education setting supporting elementary learners for the 2026/2027 school year. Provide dedicated instruction and tailored interventions as you develop and implement IEPs and BIPs, all while collaborating closely with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required. Possession of a Professional Educator License (PEL). Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement (LBS1) required. Prefer candidates with previous teaching experience. Thorough understanding of current educational and instructional methodologies. Grasp of child development theories and their classroom applications. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage an elementary-level caseload, delivering specialized instruction to meet diverse student needs. Create, implement, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in compliance with IDEA and state regulations. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrative staff to facilitate student success and effective program implementation. Adapt instructional materials and approaches to match student learning styles. Monitor student progress and provide regular communication to stakeholders.
