Performing Arts Specialist

  • Dance Instructor (AP26-074) .

What You Will Do Teach dance to program participants age 7-17 in both the after-school program (4-7pm, m-th, fall and spring semesters) and the summer program (full-time, m-f, for 7 weeks in June and July). Build students' confidence and teamwork skills while developing their theoretical understanding of and ability to perform dance. Support the program's curriculum (develop lesson plans that support learning outcomes and find creative ways to assess student development) Support the administrative and logistical aspects of the program (support drop off and pickup, work with parents, support recruiting efforts, contribute to our social media presence, help build community partnerships)
FLSA:
Non-Exempt
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in the specified field of dance
  • Three+ years of experience in dance Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with at risk youth and young adults
  • Creativity and intuition relevant to dance
  • Classroom teaching and management experience
  • Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans
  • Participant assessment tool experience
  • Excellent communication skills
