Qualifications & Experience:
Hold a valid Special Education Teaching certificate for the state of Illinois Experience working in school settings as a Special Education Teacher Strong understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring Ability to modify and differentiate instruction based on student needs Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues Organizational capabilities to manage caseloads, schedules, and required documentation Passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement tailored lesson plans for students with varying disabilities Conduct assessments and participate actively in IEP meetings Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence Engage with parents/guardians to communicate student goals and achievements Adhere to state, district, and federal guidelines and best practices in special education
