The ideal candidate will oversee classroom activities, develop engaging curricula, and foster an inclusive learning environment for children with diverse needs. This role requires strong leadership skills, expertise in early childhood education, and a passion for supporting children's developmental progress. The Lead Teacher will collaborate with staff, families, and specialists to ensure each child's educational and emotional growth is prioritized in accordance with best practices in special education and early intervention. Responsibilities Lead and manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula tailored to individual needs, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning. Utilize classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and effective learning experiences. Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support children with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs. Provide guidance on behavior management strategies and early intervention techniques to promote optimal childhood development. Maintain accurate documentation related to child progress, attendance, IEP goals, and compliance with childcare regulations. Support professional development initiatives by staying current on best practices in childhood education, deaf education, preschool experience, and working with children with disabilities. Requirements Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool or daycare experience preferred. Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques. Experience working with students who have autism or developmental disabilities; familiarity with speech therapy, behavioral health strategies, and IEP processes is highly desirable. Excellent classroom management skills combined with the ability to develop engaging curriculum plans that incorporate learning technology. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, therapists, and other stakeholders to support child welfare and inclusive education initiatives. Demonstrated communication skills essential for effectively interacting with children, families, and team members. Knowledge of special education practices such as Montessori methods or early intervention programs is a plus. Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field required; additional training in behavioral health or special education is advantageous.
