Key Qualifications:
Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Experience working with students who have visual impairments, preferably in a school setting Strong knowledge of assistive technology, Braille, and diverse instructional strategies Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Organizational skills for managing caseloads and documentation effectively Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, both individually and in classroom settings Assess students' abilities and needs, developing appropriate interventions and accommodations Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum materials and classroom environments Train and consult with staff, families, and students on the use of assistive technology and adaptive materials Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to develop meaningful learning goals Monitor progress and adjust instructional plans to meet evolving student needs Advocate for accessibility and inclusion throughout the school environment Imagine having a powerful impact on students lives while working alongside dedicated professionals passionate about student success.
