Job Description

Take the next step in your special education career by making a positive impact in an elementary classroom setting! A contract opportunity is available for a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide exceptional instruction and support to students in grades 3 and 4. This full-time assignment runs from August 26, 2026, to June 3, 2027, and offers the opportunity to work closely with a small, manageable caseload of five students in a specialized classroom environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active Illinois teaching licensure and relevant special education certification Demonstrated school-based experience in a similar setting Strong ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for diverse learning needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere
Responsibilities:
Lead instructional activities for a self-contained classroom of 3rd and 4th-grade students Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and compliance documentation Foster meaningful connections with families and promote active participation in students' educational progress
Role Details:
