Educator -Alternative Learning Opportunities Program Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Proficient written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently in a variety of settings Advocacy skills, including the ability to negotiate, compromise, and confront conflict Ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of staff Ability to cooperate with families and school staff Ability to work on a regular and punctual basis Must be able to pass a mandatory Illinois State and FBI criminal background check, and mandatory Faith's Law employment history reviewJob Goal:
To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.Performance Responsibilities:
Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Fosters and manages a safe, positive, strength-based learning environment. Recognizes individual student learning needs and develops strategies to address those needs. Communicates and collaborates in a strength-based manner with colleagues, parents and the school community. Ensures daily attendance is accurate and recorded in accordance with school policy. Maintains structured classroom procedures, utilize effective classroom management strategies, and enforce all school policies Ensures that students are enrolled in the correct classes, following school staff guidance, and that all classes are active and ready for students to work. Monitors student progress by running regular progress reports. Completes grading of activities in a timely manner and maintains accurate records of grades Creates supplemental/enrichment activities and/or identifies additional resources to address students academic needs Reports all behavioral, social/emotional, or personal student concerns to Site Coordinator Recognizes student achievement and positive behaviors in the classroomReports To:
